How Boreum works
What Boreum is
Boreum is a token launchpad on GIWA Chain. Anyone can create a token in one transaction, without writing code and without putting up liquidity. Every token starts on the same bonding curve, at the same price, with the same supply.
When buyers fill the curve, the token reaches full moon: the ETH it raised and the rest of its supply move into a DEX pool, and that liquidity is locked for good.
Boreum never holds your wallet. Every trade is a transaction you sign, settled by the contracts, and everything this site shows is read directly from the chain.
The name is Korean: 보름 (boreum) is the night of the full moon.
Launching a token
- Connect a wallet on GIWA Chain.
- Choose a name, a ticker and an image (you pick the square crop). The description and the links are optional.
- Optionally set a first buy. It is executed inside the launch transaction, so nobody can buy before you. It is public: everyone sees it as the creator's buy.
- Confirm one transaction. The token is live and tradable in the same block.
Launching costs only the network fee. Every token has a supply of 1,000,000,000 with 18 decimals. Name, ticker, image and links are written on-chain and cannot be changed afterwards.
Every Boreum token address ends in da1 (달, “dal”, the Korean word for moon). The app finds a matching address before you sign and shows it to you.
The bonding curve
A bonding curve is a contract that sells and buys back a token at a price set by a formula. There is no order book and no waiting for a counterparty: you can always buy, and you can always sell back, at the price the curve shows.
Boreum uses a constant-product curve. 800,000,000 tokens are for sale. The price rises with every buy and falls with every sell.
x = virtual ETH + ETH raised so far y = virtual tokens − tokens sold so far price = x / y tokens out = y · ETH in / (x + ETH in) ETH out = x · tokens in / (y + tokens in)
| Curve sold | ETH raised | Market cap |
|---|---|---|
| 0% | 0.00 ETH | 1.61 ETH · 1.611 ETH |
| 25% | 0.40 ETH | 2.43 ETH · 2.428 ETH |
| 50% | 1.02 ETH | 4.07 ETH · 4.073 ETH |
| 75% | 2.18 ETH | 8.20 ETH · 8.197 ETH |
| 100% | 5.00 ETH | 24.25 ETH · 24.25 ETH |
A token opens at a market cap of about 1.61 ETH and reaches full moon at about 24.25 ETH, roughly ×15, once the curve has collected 5 ETH. The progress of the curve is drawn as a moon: new at launch, full when the curve is complete.
Buying and selling
- On the curve, buys and sells go straight to the launchpad. Selling needs no separate approval: it is one transaction.
- The smallest buy is 0.0001 ETH. Each trade pays 1%, shown before you sign along with the price impact.
- Because other trades can land before yours, every trade carries a slippage limit (3% by default, adjustable). If the price moves further than the limit, the trade is cancelled and you only pay the network fee.
- After full moon, the same panel trades through the BoreumSwap pool. The first sell of a token there takes two transactions: an approval for the router, then the sell.
Full moon
The moment the last token on the curve is bought, inside that same transaction:
- The curve closes. Nothing can be bought from it or sold to it again.
- 2% of the ETH raised goes to the protocol and 1% to the creator.
- The remaining 97% of the ETH and 200,000,000 tokens are deposited in a BoreumSwap pool.
- The pool's LP tokens are sent to a dead address. Nobody, including the creator and Boreum, can withdraw that liquidity.
The pool opens at the price the curve closed at, so there is no gap to exploit. If your buy completes the curve, the trade panel tells you before you sign: you receive the last tokens and any ETH you sent beyond their cost is returned in the same transaction.
After full moon the token is an ordinary ERC-20. You keep trading it on its page here, and it can be traded or listed anywhere else. BoreumSwap is an unmodified deployment of the Uniswap V2 contracts.
Fees
| When | Fee | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Launching a token | None | You pay the network fee only |
| Trade on the curve | 1% | 0.5% to the creator, 0.1% to the referrer, 0.4% to the protocol (0.5% without a referrer) |
| Full moon | 2% + 1% of the raise | 2% protocol, 1% creator |
| Trade in the pool | 0.30% | Stays in the pool and deepens its liquidity |
A token keeps the fees it was launched with for its whole life on the curve. The contract caps the trade fee at 2% and the full-moon fees at 5% in total: no setting can go above that.
Earning as a creator or referrer
Creators earn 0.5% of every buy and sell on their token's curve, and 1% of the raise when it reaches full moon.
Referrers earn 0.1% of the curve trades made by people who arrive through their link. Your link is on My page and looks like https://www.boreum.lol/?ref=0xYourAddress. The first link a visitor arrives with is the one that counts.
Earnings accumulate in ETH inside the launchpad contract. Claim them from My page whenever you want.
The token contract
- Fixed supply of 1,000,000,000, minted once at creation. There is no mint function.
- No owner, no tax on transfers, no blacklist, no pause.
- Standard ERC-20 with 18 decimals.
Two rules apply only while the token is on its curve, and both end permanently at full moon:
- Tokens cannot be sent to the token's DEX pair. This stops anyone from seeding the pool at a rigged price before the real liquidity arrives.
- The launchpad can take the tokens you sell without a separate approval, so selling is a single transaction. It can only ever take tokens from the account that calls sell.
Safety
The launchpad contract is not upgradeable. What its owner can and cannot do is written in the code:
| The owner can | The owner cannot |
|---|---|
| Change fees and the raise target for tokens launched afterwards, within the hard caps | Change anything about a token that already exists |
| Pause launching and pause buying in an emergency | Pause selling. Selling to the curve is always open |
| Change the address that receives protocol fees | Touch curve reserves, creator or referrer earnings, or LP tokens |
| Hand ownership to another address, in two steps | Change the DEX tokens graduate into: it is fixed at deployment |
| Switch on the BoreumSwap protocol fee (a sixth of the 0.30% pool fee, on fees earned afterwards). It is off | Withdraw the liquidity locked in a pool |
The contracts come with an automated test suite (43 tests, including 400 random trades checking that the launchpad always holds exactly what it owes) and went through two passes of automated security review, whose fixes are included. They have not been audited by an independent firm.
Tokens launched here are created by users. A creator or an early buyer can sell at any time, prices can fall to zero, and smart contracts can contain bugs. Only use funds you can afford to lose.
The BRM token
BRM is the token of the Boreum project. It has not been launched yet.
- Status
- Not launched yet
- Ticker
- $BRM
- Contract address
- To be posted on the official X account (@boreumfun)
When it launches, its contract address will be posted on Boreum's official X account, @boreumfun, and added to this page. That address is the only one to trust.
- Any token called BRM or Boreum found before the announcement is not the project's token.
- Names, tickers and pictures can be copied by anyone; a contract address cannot. Compare the address with the official post before you buy.
- Never send ETH to someone offering BRM before its launch, and never share your wallet's recovery phrase.
Nothing here is a promise about the token's price or future value, nor investment advice.
Network and wallets
Boreum runs on GIWA Chain, the Ethereum layer 2 built by Upbit on the OP Stack. Fees are paid in ETH. Browser wallets such as MetaMask, OKX Wallet or Rabby work, and mobile wallets connect through WalletConnect. If your wallet does not know the network yet, the site offers to add it.

Questions
Does Boreum have its own token?
Yes, BRM, which has not been launched yet. Its contract address will be posted on Boreum's official X account and on this page; until then, any token called BRM is not the project's token.
Can a creator remove the liquidity?
No. At full moon the LP tokens go to a dead address in the same transaction that creates the pool. Before full moon there is no pool: the ETH sits in the curve and only leaves when holders sell.
Can a creator still sell their own tokens?
Yes. A creator who bought tokens can sell them like anyone else. The Holders tab of every token shows who holds what, and the creator is labelled.
What if the curve never fills?
Then the token simply stays on its curve. It can still be bought and sold there at any time, at the curve's price.
Why did my buy send some ETH back?
Your buy completed the curve. You received the last tokens available and the rest of your ETH was returned in the same transaction.
Why do all addresses end in da1?
달 (dal) is Korean for moon. It also makes a Boreum token easy to recognise: a token whose address does not end in da1 was not launched here.
Can I change my token's name or picture?
No. Everything entered at launch is written on-chain for good, so double-check it before you sign.
Where are trades and comments stored?
On GIWA Chain. The launchpad keeps its own trade log and the thread is a contract, so the charts and the comments do not depend on a private server. Comments cannot be edited or deleted.
Which wallets work?
Any wallet that supports GIWA Chain: browser wallets such as MetaMask, OKX Wallet and Rabby, and mobile wallets through WalletConnect.
Can I see prices in ETH?
Yes. Open the settings in the top bar to switch between dollars and ETH, and to use Korean chart colours (red for up, blue for down).
What is the smallest trade?
0.0001 ETH for a buy. Every curve trade pays 1%.
